Okay so today I'm having to post a post about someone's blog I really like. Well I was thinking and I realized how much I like a blog. She goes to my school and her name is Alyssa :) I chose to write about her blog because It's one of my favorites. I enjoy reading her blog because she can say so much stuff that others can't. I agree with her on so much stuff and all of her opinions. I think everyone should go check out her blog: http://0nlyhuman.yolasite.com/things-goin-on.php. I think you'll all enjoy it :)
I love this quote. I know this is a weird picture with Selena Gomez but I only chose it because I love the quote. It's true. If you want the world or other people to change, YOU must be the change. You can't force other people to change that's why you must. Just thought I'd get that out there. Oh and by the way this quote says: " You must be the change you want in the world ".

So today my first period Computer teacher gave me a blog assignment. The assignment is to talk about what type of disease you would like to cure
There are MANY diseases out there and many of them are very deadly. Honestly if I had the choice, I would cure all of them. I think it's really sad when innocent people get these deadly diseases for no reason. However, if a person was stupid and went out and did something bad and got a disease, I wouldn't feel as bad because they did it to themselves. Okay anywayyy if I were to cure one disease, it would be ALS. I would like to cure Cancer, HIV and AIDS, and Heart Disease but ALS has people suffer like crazy.
Here are some facts about ALS:
1. ALS is not contagious.
2. ALS can strike anyone.
3. Approximately 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year.
4. It is estimated that ALS is responsible for nearly two deaths per hundred thousand population annually.
5. About twenty percent of people with ALS live five years or more and up to ten percent will survive more than ten years and five percent will live 20 years. There are people in whom ALS has stopped progressing and a small number of people in whom the symptoms of ALS reversed.
6. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Charcot's disease, and motor neuron disease (MND), attacks certain cells in the brain and spinal cord needed to keep our muscles moving.
As you can see this disease is an awful thing to get! Honestly I think this disease needs to get more recognition and a cure. This Thursday at my school (April 25th) we are wearing anything Blue or Red to help support this disease. I think it would be a great idea if there was a National day for this disease like there are for cancer. Even if you're reading this and you don't go to my school, you should really participate.
Here's what I'm going to do, if you have an Instagram take a picture of you and your friends wearing those colors this Thursday and tag my user name @monica_graves10 on it. After I see the picture, I will post it on my blog. I really hope people will get the message and actually do this.

What I've learned is that things don't just come easy. You have to work hard to earn them. You're not going to drop two jeans sizes in a day, you can't go out and run a 6 minute mile after not running for a year. I mean I guess if you're really lucky or you have some type of genie then maybe this could happen. Butttt I highly doubt that. I'm sorry for busting your bubble but you're going to have to realize that you actually have to WORK to make things happen. Like the quote "No Pain, No Gain." I agree with this so much. The best things in life don't come easily.

Okay so at my school many people think that Middle School dating is "stupid" or "over-rated". In my opinion I don't care what they think. Their excuse to not date is either because it won't last or their parents won't let them or if they think we are too young. I believe that if you truly love that person then go ahead! Go date them. It's not a big problem. However I do know that there are many immature people in my school. You know, the kinds that think you're weird for dating or the one's who date almost every guy. I know we are young but if you're truly happy then go for it. If two people are happy LEAVE THEM ALONE! Just know thay you won't find true love within a week or so. It takes some time but it actually is possible to find true love at this age. A relationship isn't just to mess around, it's being with the person who makes you happier than anyone else and the person you can't live without. Sorry about me ranting on and on about this subject but I thought I'd just get my opinion out there.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of those girls who think they're perfect. Those girls who say they never cry, don't eat, get angry, or care. It's honestly ridiculous. They aren't perfect. I'm not perfect. NOBODY IS PERFECT. Some people just need to get a hold of them selves and face reality because acting like that won't get you anywhere in life.
If you ever see someone smiling don't just assume they're happy. Not everyone that smiles is happy, they just know how to hide their pain easier than anyone else. All I'm asking is for people to be kind to everyone. Even if they're smiling compliment them. Say something nice. You could make their day 10x better and good karma may come to you!
I don't understand why people want to look or be like other people. I'm not sure if you believe in God but I do and he made us all different for a reason. We were not made to copy others. You make a better you than anyone else does. Don't ever change for anyone else and just be happy with yourself. You're all beautiful in your own way!
I can not agree with this enough! This doesn't just go for girls, it goes for guys too. You don't need anyone in your life who doesn't need you. Everyone deserves to be happy and having those type of people in your life will only tear you down. You know you're much better. Just remember to stay strong, move on, and be happy.
So this year, all the 8th graders are having a Desert Dance. This dance is for 8th graders who will be going into high school. The options we have for the dance are: Never land, Glow in the dark, or A night in Hawaii. In my opinion I think we should do a night in Hawaii.I think this would be a better option because it is a more settle theme. A glow in the dark dance would get everyone all hyped up and many people want to dress up. A never land dance almost seems hard to decorate. For a Hawaiian dance we could have palm trees with Christmas lights everywhere or other fun decorations. I have A TON of Hawaiian decorations at my house so I could bring all of them to help out. This was just my opinion and I'm sure people will have different ones. :) |
